For the last several weeks, our church development has been praying for a few specific items
- 10 baptisms
- Musicians to lead us in worship.
- Attendance growth to nearly 100 people
- Funds to secure a meeting place in the community vs the hotel.
- Launching 6 small groups in the community to help seekers and new believers grow.
This has come on the heels of a season of praying and fasting, as well as some change up in the leadership team. Life changes have moved some people on to other things.
As part of the planning, praying, and regular Sunday worship, I’ve had the opportunity to teach at our church.
- Motives for Personal Evangelism
- 4 Clues to Normal Evangelism Conversations
Not everyone can be:
- A Billy Graham style public speaker
- A street evangelist yelling at people.
- An evangelist that does signs and wonders to confirm the word preached
So how can ordinary people, who lead ordinary businesses and work in ordinary jobs, find time to share their faith in the course of the day?
What role does an invitation to church plan in the process of evangelism?
These are some of the questions that I shared in my messages.
Afterwards, people told me they
- Understood me (always good when I’m teaching in a 2nd lanugage)
- Learned new things
- Found easy to apply steps they can take during the week.
Prayer requests:
Join us in praying for towards the same goals above.
- We have launched 5 small groups.
- Baptisms are scheduled for May 4
- Still seeking funds for our locale via the offerings.
- Still asking the Lord for musicians.
David Pegram says
Hi, Chris, and family,
Iv’e been praying for you all some lately – thanks for these specific things – what is the city or town name in which you all live,and/or have your church? I probably could figure it out, but just thought I’d ask. Keep in touch, as of course you do, and God bless!
